about us
As a Presbyterian congregation we seek to meet the Great Ends of the Church as our constitution requires: to proclaim the gospel for the salvation of humankind; to shelter, nuture, and provide spiritual fellowship to the children of God; to maintain divine worship; to preserve the truth; and to exhibit the Kingdom of Heaven to the world.
Our Session is composed of the pastor as moderator and twelve elders. We have five standing committees, each of which is chaired by an elder. We also have an organist and choir director, a sexton, and a church secretary.

a little history
Our church was founded in 1964 by an original group of 100 members. Over the years, we have had four full-time ministers: Rev. John Graybill, Rev. Richard Wittington, Rev. James Lockhart, and Rev. Carol Merritt. In 2008, we welcomed our fifth full-time minister, Rev. Patrick Notley. Our church building, located on a main street, is designed in a Japanese modern style around three sides of a garden courtyard. To learn more about the unique design of our church, please click here.
Since our founding, we have remained a caring, committed, family-oriented congregation. We reach out to communities on the east side of Narragansett Bay and southeastern Massachusetts, as well as the city of Providence, drawing a gifted membership with a wide variety of talents and experiences. As a church body, we know of God's great love, and we hear a call to go and share that love. Together, we commit our hearts, minds, spirits, talents, and gifts to express our faith in a secular world and to help serve the needs of society.
